All work is not html. There's a matter of homework involved.

The Northwest Village webStudio evolved from my background in graphicDesign and typesetting/print. For the most part, I really don't play around in hardCopy anymore, but on those rare occasions that the opportunity does arise - it is a welcomed challenge to "bang out" something that will actually be viewed as a printed page. For myself, "onlineDesign" has become "the place to be." In hindsight… it was a smart move. It is something I truly enjoy.

The webStudio maintains a worldwide clientele. The majority turn into long-term relationships. Quite contrary to a popular myth, having a webDesigner working on your site is not a major expense. I'm usually way too busy to explain "Why?" to the folks that believe they are better off "doing it on their own." In a nutshell its like having the oil changed on the car, or the "burner guy" come over to check the furnace. There are people that "do certain things" everyday. I'm one of them, it's just that I do it with a keyboard, some technical skills, a little creativity - and some imagination.

When I take on a project - whether it's a graphicDeisgn, a single webPage, or an entire webSite - I bring along many years of experience, a particular expertise and a dose of my 2-cents worth of inquiry. There are times when what needs to be done has little to do with what appears on a webPage. A good part of my work is from businesses and individuals that are not satisfied with their current online webSites - whether they built the site themselves or have had someone build it for them. They are looking for something that is more professional, useful, practical or unique. Most of my work is actually basic html with a strong emphasis in graphicDesign. Those two are a winning side-by-side for a majority of clients. And, it's not unusal for me to get involved in editing the content of webSite, or to offer suggestions as far as marketing and advertising. It's all part of the package. It's there is you need or want it. webStudio clients usually are a bit skeptical at first. But, they eventually drop their guard. The webStudio is not about the dollar, as much as it is about accomplishments, goals and intentions. Nowadays that may seem a strange or unusual quality. The reality is: It's a one-man-show… and I need to sleep at night with a decent conscious.

I have always maintained a conviction that "this stuff" is supposed to be enjoyable and something we can learn from. It (I) may be challenging at times, but a big part of my job is to offer clients the alternatives, tools, presentation and understanding of what is available to make a site successful, practical to it's goal and appealing to it's viewer. I become as involved as a client desires. And, if a particular project is beyond my means, I have no holds in explaining why - and will offer suggestions of what their next move might be, whether it involves the webStudio or not. None of this is meant to infer that I do not simply "take in" standard webWork projects. On the contrary, there are studios and individuals that call on a regular basis to have work done. They know what to expect. They know what it will cost. They are (obviously) pleased with the past work - or gluttons for punishment!

Sometimes I deal with businesses, organizations, clubs, civic groups and individuals that haven't the slightest idea about what is available; or, they are convinced that a particular presentation is the only way to go. They know they want a webSite, an update, a "new look", or they are having a particular problem with their existing site and… they know that they want or need help but are not sure where to turn. My consultations are always free - via email or telephone. If I can help, I'm usually more than happy to. If it's something I can directly be of assistance with - I will map out a plan and offer some prices upfront. There are no hidden charges or hourly fees. Clients know what they are getting into before they actually start. There is a comfort level in that.

The Northwest Village webStudio offers a full variety of internet and webSite related services beyond webDesign including affordable hosting, domain registrations, etc. Please keep in mind, I do not use third-party "discount" services. The webStudio is your direct "techSupport" for all matters regarding a webSite; site content, hosting services, Search Engine Ranking, and more. If you have questions, please feel free to send an email, whether a client or not.
