webStudio Philosophy 101

"If it feels like work, you're doing it wrong."

One the nicest aspects of doing this kind of work is that it seldom seems to be much of a chore. Sure, there are times it's frustrating trying to figure out how to make a page load correctly, or there are deadlines looming overhead, servers are down, or e-mail accounts aren't working. But, as a rule… once I migrated from desktop publishing to webPublishing, life got simplier. I enjoy this stuff.

Throughout these many years, I have considered myself a webWriter (or webPublisher) moreso than a webMaster. The notion of taking each project down to it's simpliest element has always been my goal when working on websites. Gathering the information, planning the layout, taking photographs and creating artwork are 75% of the job. The rest is simply filling in the words on a crossword puzzle.

I often remind people that the internet is about information. I like to keep that in mind. It's the information that's important! All the neat, crazy and oftentimes browser-confusing "things you can do" are great afterthoughts and projects. But, if you can't get the information you want to those visiting your website… you're fishing without bait.

If you're looking for to have a website established, or possibly have your existing one rebuilt, please call or e-mail. The Northwest Village webStudio is probably not your typical webStudio, but… we never intended it to be. I have a feeling our clients like it that way.
